Psalm 34:1-3 says I will bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul will make its boast in the LORD; The humble will hear it and rejoice. O magnify the LORD with me, and let us exalt His name together.
This chunk of verses is both encouraging and challenging to me. Often times when I’m in a bad mood or a tough situation or I just don’t want to go to work, I will start saying these verses and my spirit’s immediately lifted.
I’m also challenged by this psalm because of what is says. It makes me examine myself: Am I blessing the Lord all the time? Am I continually praising His name? Am I living in such a way that others will notice and rejoice in God?
Sadly, I fall short of this psalm on a daily or even hourly basis. But thank God that His grace is sufficient and His mercies are new every morning. Even when I fail miserably He still loves me and is willing to forgive, thus making Him more worthy of praise and exaltation.
So, who is being magnified, blessed, praised and exalted in your life?
