Lately I’ve been struggling with some decisions that I have to make about work and school. These are important decisions and because of that I’ve been quite stressed lately. I keep on praying “God, what should I do? What is Your will in this situation?” But I think I’ve been missing the point. I’ve been so focused on my little problem, I forgot about the God that I serve. I’ve become so focused on my life and where it’s going that it started to consume my thoughts.
But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble. – Matthew 6:33-34
God knows our needs before we do and He also knows how to take care of all those needs. He wants us to glorify Him during the hard times- to seek after Him instead of other things. When we start to worry about our future, how to pay bills, or any other things, we need to turn to God- to focus on Him and how to glorify Him instead of focusing on ourselves.
So my question is, where has your focus been?
