A big theme throughout the book of Proverbs is the wisdom of collaboration. There is wisdom found in many counselors and I would say that creating something—anything—is better when you have a group helping you. Being able to link arms with others to produce something worthwhile is one of my favorite things. It’s the best!
But I didn’t always think this way.
There was a time when I would bogart my ideas, not wanting to share them. More than that, I wanted to get all the glory for the things I created. I didn’t want to be able to point to anyone else or share credit with anyone. I wanted to be the one who was responsible for creating something great without having to ask for help for anyone else. But that arrogance was stifling and limiting.
I’m so thankful for the wisdom that experience brings!
A Proverb A Day is a result of so many different people lending a hand to me and I’m grateful for each and every one of you!
While I was thinking and praying about this book, I was unsure what to do for the cover. I love art and usually am very opinionated on this topic. For both His Story and My Story I had a clear vision for the cover, but for this one, I was at a complete loss. Then I looked up at my living room wall and saw the art pieces painted by my dear friend, Cynthia McClure, and I knew who I wanted to collaborate with.
Cynthia is a wonderful artist and prophetic painter who consistently amazes me with her creations! She constantly encourages me in my passion for the Lord and for people; I am so fortunate to be able to call her a friend! Check out her website to learn more about her and even purchase a painting or two.
