Pray for All People: Day 7

Posted by

Today, I want to pray for first responders. While they are not “in authority” over us, they fall into the “all people” category. Also, we have learned just how vital these trained professionals are during this season. A first responder is anyone who is trained to respond first to a crisis, such as EMTs, paramedics, firefighters, and police officers.

I realize that some of you reading this might not want to pray for this group of people and that’s okay. Your feelings are valid. But I would encourage you to dig a little more deeply into what is causing those emotions. What is causing you to not want to pray for a group of people who desperately need to know the love of God?

We live in a truly terrifying world and I am grateful for these men and women who go into these difficult places to do these impossible jobs so that I can live safely. Their sacrifice is important. The sacrifice of their families is important. During this trauma-filled year, they need our prayers now more than ever.

Today I am praying for:

  • First responders to be filled with wisdom and led by the Spirit
  • That perfect love would cast out fear in their hearts and the hearts of their families

What is God saying to you?
