Pray for All People: Day 8

Posted by

First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers, intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people, for kings and all who are in high positions, that we may lead a peaceful and quiet life, godly and dignified in every way. This is good, and it is pleasing in the sight of God our Savior, who desires all people to be saved and to come to the knowledge of the truth.” 1 Timothy 2:1-4 (ESV)

I wanted to revisit this passage again today. This is the anchor for this month of prayer and intercession that we’re engaging in. I think what I’m realizing is that many of the people who are in “high positions” in our world today are not those I would think of off the top of my head. So let’s follow God into these unexpected places and pray for those who desperately need our prayers during this time.

One of the most important “high positions” is parents. I have no children and I am amazed at what moms and dads have endured through this year. If you are a parent, you truly are incredible—thank you for leading and serving your family even when it’s tempting to give up. When you have blown it, thank you for getting back up and loving the best you can during these tough times.

Today I am praying for:

  • Parents to cast their cares upon God and receive his supernatural peace
  • For clear ears to hear God’s voice and his wisdom
  • For homes to be places of unity, rest, and joy

Are there any other groups that you think fall into the “high positions” category? I encourage you to pray for them today!

What is God saying to you?
