Kids can be incredibly fun but also overwhelming to handle. They can be the cause of immense joy and also some really great hair-pulling. Children are a gift, but are also an immense responsibility—to all you parents out there, I applaud you. What you do is incredible!
So much of my focus during this year has been on adults and how we are grappling with and processing through this weird and horrifying year. But I had forgotten about the kids. No matter our age, we’re all living through this. Kids are smart, they pay attention, and you better believe they know what’s up.
“Now they were bringing even infants to him that he might touch them. And when the disciples saw it, they rebuked them. But Jesus called them to him, saying, “Let the children come to me, and do not hinder them, for to such belongs the kingdom of God. Truly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God like a child shall not enter it.”” Luke 18:15-17 (ESV)
God loves kids, so let’s intercede on their behalf today. If you have kids, start by praying for them, but I encourage you to radiate outward. Let’s pray for children who might not have a loved one to pray for them. Let’s go to the mat for the kids who are the most vulnerable today.
Today I am praying for:
- Children in my nation
- God to draw them near to him, for people in their lives to point them to Jesus
- Protection of their hearts and minds
- Safe spaces and trustworthy people to process through hard things with
What is God saying to you?
Yes, we need to be reaching our children for Jesus!

Yes, amen! They so desperately need to know and experience the love of God.
