Pray for All People: Day 31

Posted by

If you have been on social media at all, you have seen that we have a lot of verbal weapons that we can throw at each other. The more that I’m on Twitter or Facebook, the less I want to be there because there’s just so much division. There are so many weapons being lobbed at other human beings. Division is only increasing. There’s a lot of accusation and not a lot of loving communication.

A few months ago, I had this vision of people being loaded up with all sorts of weapons and a lot of armor. The people were geared up for a fight. But they were able to drop all of those things at the door of the church and enter into the building vulnerably and honestly. The world teaches us to spend our time loading up our metaphorical weapons throughout the week, so we can be ready to pick off our perceived opponents.

Imagine what might happen if the church was a place where people on opposite sides, fueled to the brim with opposition, could come in and experience reconciliation? What if the church became known as a place of restoration and healing?

Today I am praying for:

  • The church to be a place of reconciliation and restoration
  • The people of God to carry out the ministry of reconciliation
  • Us to create safe spaces for unity and healing

Are there any ideological weapons that you have gathered to fire at other people? Is there anything that you need to lay down today?

What is God saying to you?
